CURRENT Name contenders and who thought them up: This Scout started out as Part Donor for salvage with no title. It was a 4 cyclinder with a 3 speed. It will be crafted into one of the most elaborate functional RockCrawlers ever to rule the Scout world. The motivation for this project comes from Johns quest of excellence in the offraod world and a mano-a mano sport history. Power is slated to be a built 392, TF-727, Klune-V crawler box, and a NP-205 transfer case combination. The running gear at this time is slated to be a 5.89 Detroit locker equipped Dana 70 rear end, that will have the ends loped off and Dana 60 front steering outers welded on. The front will be a 5.89 OX Locker equipped Dana 60 thats narrowed. The suspension will be a custom setup using various different components, both used and fabricated. The rear flex will be attained by a 1/4 elliptical rear setup. The front is planned to be a coil spring setup with a 4 link to hold it all in place. The frame will be custom made from tube. Steering all this will be a full independent Hydro setup. In other words the rear will be controlled via a joystick mounted in the cab separate of what the front is doing. The tires needed for the use intended by this stout rig will be 39.5-18-16.5 TSL Boggers mounted on Hummer Beadlocks. The brakes will be 4 wheel disks. The seating will be provided by Corbeau in their Targa RS line. Now the One of a kind modifications. The tub will be narrowed 4-6" as well as the rear 4 foot bed being cut down to 2-2.5 feet. The tailgate will be retained and moved up. The quarters will be opened up with no back side. The front will consist of some tube bent to look like a fender. The external skin will be removable Diamond Plate Aluminum of the 1/8" and 1/16" thickness. This vehicle will look to place in the top ten at many events including Top Truck Challenge, Warns rock Crawling series, and the Washington Rock Crawler association's yearly events. Please feel free to contact John about this buildup, whether to suggest ideas, products, or sponsorship funding.
