Body lifts have gotten a bad reputation, but with good body mounts they are fine up to 3" (we do not recommend more than that). They give you increased room to run fuel lines, wiring, and larger exhaust. Also they do not allow the mud to build up in the pockets easily and allow for easier cleaning, and increased tire clearances. Another benefit is the ability to raise your extended capacity gas tank for ground clearance. There are more but those are the main benefits. With the 2-3” inch kits you will need to address the steering box rag joint situation and lower the fan shroud or easily trim it to clear. See the flaming river joints on this site or call us for more information. You may need to heat and rebend your transfer case shifters to get full range of positions with the stock tunnel cover.
After using some of the kits on the market and finding their pucks to be castings and off by as much as 1/8" or uneven we decided BCB 4x4 could do better and manufactured these. For starters each puck is machined for tolerances. Second we noticed the back two bed bolts go through a 1/2" sleeve in the body so we designed the puck and hardware to take advantage of that for a more centered body position. Lastly we found other brand kits hardware to be the wrong length. In this kit you get the right length as well as a upgrade to Stover top lock nuts. All hardware in our kit is Cadmium coated for corrosion resistance. So you see why BCB 4x4 makes the best body lift kit on the market for your Scout!! My local shop that tried to push Performance Accessories on me was very impressed with the quality and craftsmanship of this kit. Al bolts were the correct length and the lift pucks were solid not cast and hollow. The best part is i save $$ buying this kit over the competition. I will be getting the steering u-joint kit next even though i dont need it for the 1". I want my Scout to steer the best it can.
