I finally got around to installing the straight steer brace I got a few months back.
Everything fit perfectly. In fact, it fit so perfectly that I had to align it exactly or it would not go in. Once I got the angle correct, it tapped into place. The bolts were the correct length, good quality, and I had no problems. This piece is designed extremely well, and much stronger than the other designs I have seen. The holes are exactly the right size, not one millimeter away from where they should be, and the notch for the lower radiator hose is exactly as is needed. It was 5 dollars less than the quotes I was getting for competitive pieces, but there is no question in my mind this is a far superior piece. This part fit awesome! I did have to grind some factory welding slag first just like the instructions said might be required, and the part slid into place with a tap of a hammer, just like the instructions said. Best of all, and one reason I bought this part over the other commercial style, I did not have to remove my lower radiator hose or my transmission cooler lines, which I don't think are factory but follow the hose. This is a truly outstanding steering brace! I shopped around this was the most inexpensive one I found and most innovative with the cutout for the radiator hose. It fits in tight as to be expected but slid right in and bolted up nicely. Calling up the company you'll get John the owner who has a wealth of knowledge on scouts and gave me advice on other things to check on. I will be ordering more parts from this company that's for sure. (Posted on 5/30/15)
