Quick Overview
This 2" wide leaf spring kit was originally designed for the 1972-1980 Scout 2, Traveler, and Terra but has been redesigned to be universal to many axles in many rigs. This 2” wide leaf spring kit has the 2.75" u-bolts for the IH Scouts and other 2.75" diameter axle tube equipped axles. These are CNC laser cut to our unique design. Then put in fixtures to weld up and assure a perfect fit. Afterwards they are cut, ground, and sanded to insure a snag free and rock ramped bottom profile. Lastly the shock tab is welded on. Next they get inspected and all weld spatter is removed. They are now ready for you to apply a durable paint or powder coat finish to protect the raw steel.
1. You Gain 1-5/8" ground clearance over the stock plates. Thats like 3" larger tire clearance under the spring pack.
2. Upgrades you to 5/8" U-bolts over the stock 7/16"
3. Fully captivates the spring pack allowing removal of the stock spring clamps for more vertical leaf spreading articulation.
4. Constructed of 3/8" Steel with a 1/4" steel shock tab for superior strength over the puny factory 1/8" steel thats prone to cracking on originals
5. Moves the shock up further out of harms way allowing more down travel of the suspension.
6. Can be used in SOA or SUA configuration.
7. Utilizing the rock ramp profile on the bottom allows less snagging up on obstacle edges.
We feel these 7 features make our product the #1 choice when you want the best u-bolt spring plates for your Scout 2. The set includes (2) Plates, and (4) 2.75" U-bolts. Now you see why BCB 4x4 makes the best U-bolt plate on the market for your offroad rig!!
Future offerings will be posted with u-bolt options and 1.75", 2.5", 3" spring width options
All U-Bolt plate sets will come raw steel with a little bit of brush down and weld bb removal. Final sanding and deburring the edge to accept paint will be up to the purchaser. While we painted them for 20 years, it's just impossible to paint them 1-2 sets at a time and seeing as how we no longer have a full time welder that's only job is this and a few products where he could setup and paint 5-10 sets at a time making it feasible time wise, i just can not spend 30-40 minutes painting a set when I could be working on a customer rig for the hourly shop rate. Its all about making a living and survival. Rising rent cost, operating expenses, permits, and fees have forced us to really take a close look at how our time is best spent. Besides i need extra time to bring all the new products to market that i have been designing over the past 20 years :). Thanks for understanding.
